Player of the week: Eleni Daniilidou

The Greek player Eleni Daniilidou enjoyed a great week in Hobart, where she clinched her 5th WTA singles title without dropping a set and reached the doubles final. Daniilidou wasn't very lucky with the draw as, after beating Pauline Parmentier in 1st round, she had to face first seed and WTA #21 Alona Bondarenko. But Daniilidou played a great match and won in straight sets, as she did also against local player Casey Dellacqua and former Top 20 Flavia Pennetta in the quarters and semis. In the final Daniilidou wasn't the favorite as she had to face 2nd seed and WTA #22 Vera Zvonareva. But this time Eleni was luckier, as Zvonareva got injured training before the match, so Daniilidou took the title by walkover. In doubles Daniilidou and her partner Jasmin Woehr reached the final but where defeated by the Spanish Anabel Medina and Virginia Ruano.
