Week #41: 3rd title in a row for Jankovic, wins in Moscow

Jelena Jankovic captured in Moscow her third title in three weeks after victories in Beijing and Stuttgart. With this "hat-trick", Jankovic almost secures the #1 place at the end of the season. Jankovic was the only non-Russian player in the semifinals completed by Elena Dementieva, Dinara Safina and Vera Zvonareva, but she fustrated the hopes of the Russian crowd and gave no chance to Zvonareva in the final. Ana Ivanovic suffered another early defeat, being upsetted by Dominika Cibulkova.
